1. Jon is a comedian, making fun of people and pointing out their mistake is his job; HE IS UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO BE A JOURNALIST, NO MATTER HOW MUCH PEOPLE SEE HIM AS ONE. I have thought a lot about this and the fact of the matter is: Jon doesn't claim to be a journalist, so, no, he can't be expected to be one. This has nothing to do with 'having guts' or 'being edgy' because Jon is still a comedian; and giving your opinion on things/pointing out stupidity/making fun of people; STILL FALLS UNDER THE CATEGORY OF A COMEDIAN. And he is not the only comedian to do this; he just happen to be more honest and factual than others;  but that still doesn't make him a journalist. Saying that he doesn't go after the people you want him to, not always do hard-hitting interviews,  doesn't matter, because he does his show from his point of view, and is under no obligation to do what the news should. Critisizing the news doesn't mean that he should take it upon himself to fix it, that is not his job. The fact that he is more factual and balanced than the other news channels, is a bonus, and says something about the state of the media; not the state of him or his show.

2. You are a fucking idiot. You say that 'enough liberals do' so it's okay to make generalizations. Well, hmm, most of the teabaggers I've encountered are dumb, racist, ignorant, calls Obama for Hitler, and believe that Obama is the Anti Christ/not born in America. By your account, that makes it okay to make generalizations, right? Except, you don't think so, because it's people you agree with, which makes you, wait for it, A HYPOCRIT.

3. I can't wait for Jon and The Daily Show writers to own you on this; or even better, ignore you, because you don't deserve to even get mentioned on their show; THAT'S HOW PATHETIC YOU ARE. Join the ranks of Tucker Carlson, Jim Cramer, and John Gibson, bb, cuz soon that will be all you have.

I hate, hate, hate that sentiment, that if "enough" of a group thinks a certain way, it's okay to generalize. What the hell does that even mean? How many is "enough"? 50.1%? 60%? 75%? Exactly where do you draw the line? Furthermore, how do you know that "enough" people think it? Even if your cut off is 50.1% of the group in question, when said group consists of millions of people, how can you even say that "enough" believe what you say they do? Sure, maybe the ten, fifty, or, generously, hundred people you know do, but 100/60,000,000 IS NOT A REPRESENTATIVE SAMPLE YOU JACKASS.

I also just love how he tries to say "oh yeah I guess I was generalizing oops" and then afterward completely negates it with the whole "sometimes it's okay to generalize!" bullshit. What the fuck ever, dude. You don't even have the balls to stick to one opinion, so who the hell are you to say anyone else doesn't have "guts"? He reminds me of this time I saw an anonymous commenter call someone a "coward". Lol, Bernie Goldberg, that is my reaction to you. Just lol.

The, "Oooh, look, I just called you gay! Buuurn!" bit pissed me off too. Wow, I bet Jon is going to beat you up at recess for that.

Also, Bernie Goldberg, because you're an idiot: "comedian" and "social commentator" are not mutually exclusive entities. That's often at the core of what a comedian IS; we certainly seem to remember them for it.

Ahhh, stupid people. Why do they always feel compelled to their mouths?

I AGREE I AGREE I AGREE. SO FUCKING MUCH.

Last time I checked, pointing out stupid things/giving your opinion/ making fun of people is under the category of a comedian. I don't even... Like you said: just lol.

I was just about to say that, because that's the thing that bugged me the most. Isn't social commentator exactly what a good comedian should be? Making them mutually exclusive makes absolutely no frigging sense whatsoever.

I'm one of Stewart's biggest critics. However, my criticism takes into account that Stewart is essentially a comedian, no matter how much he toes the line of journalism/punditry.

THANK YOU. I an all for people disliking Jon or critisizing him, but don't say things that aren't true.

I'm more a critic of his ideas and sometimes the presentation than anything else. It's bad that so many people forget that he's an entertainer first, srs journalist/pundit a lot further down.

Yeah, I get not agreeing with him and his point of view, which I can respect, it's when people go personal or lie I get angry.
